Why study A Levels at MAGE Hybrid ?

Students can sometimes find the step up from iGCSE to A Levels more challenging that the progression from A Level to University. Studying with MAGE is flexible, revolves around your lifestyle and is also key to promoting independent learning and further enquiry. A Levels are recognised around the world and by top universities and employers.

Hybrid learning AS/AL with smaller classes and less distractions

Our experienced teachers are trained to help students achieve the best outcomes by providing opportunities to stretch those who are excelling, and support those who need additional help. Typically, students study A Level courses. Each A Level involves just under 5 hours per week and lessons are timetabled and recorded. MAGE's AS and AL class sizes are limited to a maximum of 20 students.

A wealth of learning resources and social activities

At MAGE, all our interactive lessons are recorded and archived. This archive is accessible 24/7. As well as being a great resource for lesson preparation and revision, it also means that you can revisit A Level course content , virtual labs , self learning activities and practising modules at any time. As well as our online hybrid reasourses , we have a whole host of clubs and societies students can join – and our very own online common room! We host common room guest talks every Friday afternoon. Army officers, doctors, nurses and scientists have given talks about their careers in the past and the weekly slot can also sometimes be about topical issues and other areas of interest brought up by teachers or students. We encourage social engagement both in and out of the classroom and hold regular school trips throughout the year with local learning communities , as well as a Summer Ball.

Dedicated support for university and job applications

The university application process can be daunting for students. MAGE students studying A Levels are helped by our dedicated team in applying for international university. We help students write their personal statements and anything else they need to submit a strong application at best international universities. We find that universities like our students because they can provide evidence of ‘self-directed study’ via hybrid learning A Levels. The team is also on hand to help you with your career choices and look at various career paths you could take.

A wide choice of online A Level courses

Students may choose to study our A Levels in addition to their current school’s offer. If the school or college only offers some of the subjects you want to study at AS and A Level, then King’s InterHigh’s Sixth Form College could offer you the perfect solution. Students can combine their current studies with our online offer or use our recordings to provide further study and exam preparation.

How we teach

MAGE uses an integrated hybrid learning platform and lesson library for delivery and 24/7 access to subject materials and virtual simulations. Classes are timetabled and lessons are taught live by internationally qualified teachers trained in hybrid teaching and learning. All live sessions with teachers are recorded and available for students to access and quality assurance purpose.

Depending on the subject and age of student, subjects may include a “lead” lesson (seminar) and an “explore” lesson (tutorial of up to 20 students). Students apply the knowledge they have learned through “apply” or homework assignments and are assessed regularly through summative and formative assessments. Teachers use online break out rooms, chats, polls, quizzes as well as virtual simulations to encourage student interaction and foster engagement and understanding with the topic being discussed.
